Explore the benefits of magnetic level indicators for visual and remote level monitoring in industrial tanks.

Introduction to Magnetic Level Indicators

Magnetic level indicators (MLIs) provide continuous level indication without requiring external power. They use a float with permanent magnets that couples with an external indicator, offering both visual and remote level measurement.

Operating Principle

A magnetic float inside a chamber moves with the liquid level. External indicators (flags, rollers, or electronic transmitters) follow the float's magnetic field, displaying the level clearly and accurately.

Key Advantages

  • No external power required for visual indication
  • Suitable for high pressure and temperature
  • Compatible with hazardous area applications
  • Long service life with minimal maintenance
  • Can integrate with remote transmitters

Common Applications

MLIs are widely used in petrochemical plants, power generation, LNG terminals, and offshore platforms where reliable level indication is essential for safe operations.

Configuration Options

Available in side-mounted or top-mounted configurations, with various chamber materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, exotic alloys) and connection types to suit different process requirements.
